Mantle created the Citizens of Mantle NFT collection, capped at 100,000 NFTs and developed in collaboration with artist Chen Man. Each NFT functions as a dynamic digital identity linked to the Mantle Journey Program, evolving as users interact with Mantle’s L2, applications, and ecosystem milestones.

Mantle’s token layer was later unified following governance approvals under BIP-21 and MIP-22, transitioning the former BitDAO token (BIT) into Mantle’s current governance and gas asset, MNT. The migration follows a 1:1 conversion ratio with a permanent one-way mechanism. Additionally, governance approved the non-conversion and burn of 3 billion BIT tokens previously held in the Mantle Treasury.

Project launch date: BitDAO is founded (precursor to Mantle)

The community (including Bybit) proposes the development of Mantle Network, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution, to be built and funded within the BitDAO ecosystem.

BitDAO governance passes BIP-21 (the "One Brand, One Token" proposal) to merge BitDAO and Mantle, unifying both under the single brand Mantle and having one token by replacing the BIT token with MNT (1:1 ratio).

Listing & TGE date: Mantle Network Mainnet officially launches (during EthCC in Paris). The migration of BIT tokens to MNT begins.
